MAURICE DUPONT Model MD 100

The MD 100 offers amazing value for money! Offering classic DuPont attention to detail and finishing's it has a beautiful tone and amazing playability for this price. You will not be able to put it away!

Very similar in shape and tone as the MD 50, the MD 100 has a mahogany neck, beautiful French spruce soundboard top and sapely back and sides. Sapely has become a very popular tonalwood with similar tonal features to Mahogany but offers a little extra zing at the high end. This is a stunning looking and sounding guitar with the handmade quality that can only come from an experienced luthier.

I had often heard of the playability of Dupont guitars...but had not fully appreciated what that meant until I had the opportunity to play them!

We at Gypsy Jazz Australia are so proud to be the first to import a range of Dupont guitars into Australia!

This guitar comes complete with a hard case, truss rod adjuster and Dupont dust cloth.

Maurice Dupont Guitars

Initially trained in Paris by the famous luthier Jacques Favino, Maurice Dupont first opened his own workshop near Cognac in France in 1981. Since then he has become one of the most respected luthiers in France. In 1989 the honour of “Best French Craftsman” was bestowed on him.

While first gaining a reputation for his classical guitars in 1986 Maurice made his first copy of a Selma-Maccaferri guitar. These Gypsy guitars have since become the leading product of his workshop and the popular choice of many of the worlds top guitarists including Bireli Lagrene, Raphael Fays, Romane and Marc Fosset.

Maurice DuPont has more recently installed a saw mill and wood seasoning space to store and age specialty woods for making an even more unique instrument found in his Veille Reserve models. Gypsy Jazz Australia aims to import these models eventually.

THIS IS A BRAND NEW HANDMADE GUITAR IMPORTED FROM EUROPE!!
