Alves de Puga “Vieux Paris” 2022

Deep in the South West of France is the village of Orthez where the luthier Jean Louis Alves de Puga has been crafting Selma guitars for over 20 years with his son Timo. Jean Louis prides himself on making as much of his instruments as possible by hand. He makes a very limited number of instruments each year and takes great pride in his work.   
Having failed French at school (that is a story!) I have been communicating with Jean Louis on Google Translate.

This is the very first Alves de Puga “Vieux Paris” to be available in Australia.

Vieux is French for old or ancient and though brand new Jean Louis goes to great lengths to give this guitar a vintage feel both in looks and tone.

The “Vieux Paris” is made with a solid Spruce top and beautiful Rosewood back and sides. 

In the Busato style the Vieux Paris comes supplied with an optional pick guard.

At $2750 this is fantastic value and one of a kind guitar in Australia!
